Lebwa is an educational, non-religious, non-political, non-partisan forum.

Lebwa was founded in North America to contribute to the empowerment of Lebanese/Lebanese American women, by providing support and conducting discussions between, for and about women, mostly but not exclusively- women of Lebanon or those interested in their emancipation. The purpose is to bring together Lebanese/ Lebanese American/ of Lebanese descent women, including non Lebanese interested in Lebanese women issues, or Lebanese women who are interested in other global issues.

Lebwa's forum is a network where ideas, experiences, resources and information about issues concerning Lebanese/Lebanese American women can be shared. LEBWA aims at providing support for Lebanese women in the world. Another goal is to promote gender equity and counteract stereotypes and false impressions about Lebanon and Lebanese women. LEBWA also promotes Lebanese women who have contributed to the world in a meaningful way. LEBWA seeks to build connections with other Arab organizations with similar goals.

Some of the objectives of Lebwa:
(1) addressing issues that face women like education, career guidance, professional advancement, leadership, gender roles, identity crises, empowerment and socio-cultural conflicts.
(2) highlighting achievements of Lebanese/Lebanese American women.
(3) building an archive of Lebanese women's references, literature, biographies, work, art and more.
(4) building a database for Arab women's organizations and groups
