Nayla Moawad, MP
Nayla Moawad is a second term deputy in the Lebanese Parliament. She received the highest number of votes in her district in the parliamentary elections. She serves on both the Parliamentarian Committee for Finance and for Education and Culture. She also heads the Parliamentarian Committee for the Rights of Children. H.E. is also the founder of the Rene Moawad Foundation and its President in Lebanon as well as its Honorary President in the US. She was the First Lady of Lebanon in 1989. She participated in numerous international conferences amongst them the Women's Conference in Beijing. Mrs. Moawad formerly held a career in Journalism.
Among the educational, community and charitable projects of the Rene Moawad Foundation is the Mujeres* Project that promotes the political role of women.
